Yeh Unda Yellow Bridge Sidemen Karangasem Bali
Sidemen is the name of a sub-district as well as the name of a village in Karangasem district. Right in the middle of the Sidemen sub-district flows a river called Tukad Yeh Unda which causes this sub-district to be divided into two parts, namely the western and eastern parts. This Tukad drains water from the foot of Mount Agung in the Karangasem Strait sub-district to the Indonesian ocean in Klungkung district. To connect the two areas, the government built a bridge. One of them is the Yellow Yeh Unda bridge that connects Sangkan Gunung village with Sidemen village.

This
bridge is named the Yellow Yeh Unda bridge because this bridge is yellow and is
above Tukad Yeh Unda. Unlike bridges in general using concrete, this yellow
bridge is built using an iron rope that is suspended and the path is made of
wood. Because this bridge is made by hanging, this bridge is often given the
name by the locals Yeh Unda Suspension Bridge.
This
bridge cannot be traversed by four-wheeled vehicles and can only be traversed
by two-wheeled vehicles, and even then only one lane. If there is a motorcycle
that will pass to the east, the motorcycle that will pass to the west must wait
so that the motorcycle from the west has arrived at the east of the Yeh Unda
river. In addition to motorcycle users, this bridge is used for pedestrians by
local residents if they want to go to Sidemen village without having to get wet
through the river.
Not
only unique, the yellow yeh unda bridge also has stunning natural views. Where
in the middle of the bridge we can see the clear flow of the Tukad Yeh Unda
river in the dry season with the backdrop of a towering majestic mountain.
Around the bridge there are also trees that grow lush and green. If you want to
feel the cool water of this river, you can go down to just wash your face or
take a shower.
